My name is Brittnee Smith, the founder of Feelosophy Counseling and Consulting. I was inspired to create a virtual space to help people like you grow and kindle your inner greatness to make impactful change in your life, the people around you, and our environment.
I received my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and approved Consultant (CEDS-C) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). With over eight years of experience in the mental health field, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and their support systems in overcoming challenges related to eating disorders, anxiety, and more. I have worked in various levels of care including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings. In addition, I have experience leading a virtual team at ERC as a clinical manager whose regions achieved the highest-rated clinical quality in 2021. Currently, I hold a part-time role as a Senior Therapist III at Eating Recovery at Home.
In therapy, I value creating a warm and laidback environment where people can feel at ease. I am known for my efficient and productive approach to creating systems and plans, and I believe that laughter (when appropriate) is an important part of the therapeutic process.
I have a passion for spending time outdoors and immersing myself in nature's wonders. My outdoor pursuits encompass various activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, forest exploration, beach volleyball, and walks with my beloved Bernedoodle puppy, Meeka.
Indoors, I find great joy in my diverse set of hobbies. I relish delving into science fiction literature, enjoying board games with friends and family, nurturing my collection of plants, pwning in video games, and finding relaxation in the art of knitting and pottery. These activities not only enrich my life but also allow me to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
